Free access while seats last

A meeting to rediscover the figure of Camillo Golgi (1843-1926), a world-renowned scientist from Pavia and protagonist of discoveries that revolutionized modern medicine. From the black reaction, which gave rise to neuroscience, to the discovery of the Golgi apparatus, to his seminal studies on malaria, his contributions made a profound mark on biology and biomedicine.

Golgi was also a central figure for Pavia: senator, several times rector of the University, promoter of the San Matteo Polyclinic and the Mondino Neurological Clinic, as well as active during World War I in the management of the “Collegio Borromeo” Military Hospital.

Speaker: Paolo Mazzarello – Full Professor of History of Medicine at the University of Pavia
